Gender

True democracy rests onequal participation of all people in public life, regardless of their sex. Media can play an important role in promoting gender equality and establishing pluralistic society. Media, however, can also strengthen stereotypes existing in society and encourage marginalization rather than inclusion of certain social groups.

Gender equality is an issue directly influencing harmonious development of society and the role of an individual in this process. An individual is the means to achieve progress and an end of this striving too.

Guided by professional principles of media and open society values, the MDF aims to promote idea of equality and facilitate the professional and institutional development of media through supporting public debates and training about the role of society, raising awareness of citizens about gender equality issues, and conducting research and media monitoring.

Youth and campaigns

One of the main priorities of the MDF is to encourage youth activism, support their initiatives, volunteerism and active citizenship; contribute to democratic process through discussions and public campaigns; raise civil awareness and achieve changes in society. The work of organization is also aimed at social rehabilitation of youth and providing them with opportunities for self-realization.
