Self-regulation

Pursuant to Article 14 of the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting and the Code of Conduct of Broadcasters adopted by the Georgian National Communication Commission (GNCC) in 2009, broadcasters are obliged to establish an efficient complains mechanism for considering customers’ complaints.

If  a broadcaster breaches the Code of Conduct, apply to us through filling out a provided questionnaire and the Media Development Foundation, MDF will present your complaint in a broadcaster's self-regulation body.

MDF experts on Ombudsman’s seminar

The seminar – "Tolerance culture in media” for journalists was held in Batumi on June 26-27, 2010.

 

Representatives of central and regional media participated in seminar. Featuring minorities in media, journalistic ethics, tolerance and diversity issues were discussed at the seminar. The seminar was compared by the experts Nino Danelia, Eka Agdgomelashvili, Lasha Bugadze and representatives of the Center of Tolerance existing at Ombudsman’s Office Beqa Mindiashvili, Nino Tsincadze and representatives of Media development Foundation, MDF Keti Mskhiladze and Tamar Khorbaladze. The results of the monitoring on ethnical and religious minority themes implemented by the foundation was discussed at the seminar.

 

The seminar was organized by the Center of Tolerance existing at Ombudsman’s Office. The seminar was supported by The United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG) program "National Integration and Tolerance in Georgia” funded by The United Nations Association development program and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
