Self-regulation

Pursuant to Article 14 of the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting and the Code of Conduct of Broadcasters adopted by the Georgian National Communication Commission (GNCC) in 2009, broadcasters are obliged to establish an efficient complains mechanism for considering customers’ complaints.

If  a broadcaster breaches the Code of Conduct, apply to us through filling out a provided questionnaire and the Media Development Foundation, MDF will present your complaint in a broadcaster's self-regulation body.

Call for Participation in “Fighting Fake” - German-Georgian Journalists exchange program

4-11 October, Berlin (Germany)

Media Development Foundation (MDF) in  partnership with Deutsche Gesselschaft (Germany) calls for participation in the "Fighting Fakes” - German-Georgian Journalists exchange program. 

About the program:

Within the framework of the program selected participants from Georgia will have a study trip to Berlin. The program includes seminars on challenges and threats of disinformation and its impact on political process. Participants  will meet German colleagues, media and NGO representatives to share their experience of tackling misinformation as well state and EU representatives to get familiar how disinformation is dealt with on the German state and EU level. 

After the study trip the journalists shall write a small research paper on disinformation and fake news based on the gained knowledge and experience. Their work will be published on "Myth Detector” Platform as well as by the media they represent. 

Working language of Seminars: English

The program is funded by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.

Terms of the contest

The candidates are expected to meet the following requirements
  • Working experience in media;
  • Previous accomplishments in covering either of the following topics: disinformation and fake news challenges, European neighborhood policy, EU politics, civil society, German-Georgia relations and other related areas. 
  • Excellent command of English language
Obligations:

After the study trip to Berlin the participants have an obligation to publish their research paper on disinformation and fake news on "Myth Detector” platform, also in the media they represent. 

Material for www.mythdetector.ge  may be written either in Georgian or English. Translation will be provided by Myth Detector.
