Self-regulation

Pursuant to Article 14 of the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting and the Code of Conduct of Broadcasters adopted by the Georgian National Communication Commission (GNCC) in 2009, broadcasters are obliged to establish an efficient complains mechanism for considering customers’ complaints.

If  a broadcaster breaches the Code of Conduct, apply to us through filling out a provided questionnaire and the Media Development Foundation, MDF will present your complaint in a broadcaster's self-regulation body.

Success stories

Media competition for Diversity School

 

Winners of the media competition for Diversity School students were revealed on October 22, 2014.

Jury members:

Davit Paichadze -Ilia State University, media school

George Tugushi - Georgian Democracy Initiative

Ramaz Aptsiauri - United Nations Association of Georgia, UNAG

Keti Mskhiladze - MDF, Trustee of the Georgian Public Broadcaster

Eka Chitanava - Tolerance and Diversity Institute, MDF


 

Winners:

The jury named Jaikhun Narzalovifor the report about early marriage as the first place winner of the competition. Jaikhun is from the Begliari village of Marneuli district. In 2010, after completing Georgian language preparation course, he was enrolled at Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University (TSU), faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Jaikhun is studying journalism. He is a fourth-grade student.




The second place went to Gaiane Akojiani for the blog Orji Public School. Gaiane is from Orji village of Akhalkalakhi district. In 2012 after passing the General Skills Exam and undertaking the Georgian language course, she entered Ilia State University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, She is specializing in a sociology. Gaiane is a member of the Tbilisi Youth center of Civic Activism.





 The third place went to Mania Zalaliani for the report about Doukhobors.Mania graduated from Russian Public School in Ninotsminda. She was enrolled at the Tbilisi State University through the 4+1 quota program. She undertook Georgian language preparation course, now studies English language. She is a first-grade student.


 

Special certificates were granted to:  

Special certificate was granted to Tamuna Janjulia for the report about Abkhazia. Tamuna is from Gali district (occupied territory of Georgia). She Graduated from Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University (TSU), faculty of Journalism. She was enrolled at the University through the 4+1 program for students from Abkhazia. Now she is a master degree student at the Tbilisi Technical University. Tamuna is undertaking internship course in TV Company TV 3. 



Special certificate was granted to Lusine Pichikiani for blog "About me". She is a fourth-grade student of Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University (TSU), Faculty of International Relations. Currently, she studies international relations within one semester exchange program at University of Latvia. Lusine is from Akhalkalaki. She graduated from school in 2010 and at the same year got enrolledat Georgian language preparatory program of Tbilisi State University through the quota rules. She has passed the certification exam in Georgian language.
